Blackburn United 2 v Blue Star Aces  0        12/02/12

Even start to the game, but as the first half progressed Blackburn United started to dominate. Did not take long for United to take the lead, an excellent move by the front three, which was finished off by Mohammed (Striker). More chances came and went. Half way through the first half Mohammed went through Blue Star’s defence, with just the
goalie to beat, he shot straight at him. 1-0 it remained at half time.

In the second half - most of the game was being played in Blue Star’s half, soon after the restart it was 2-0, great team goal excellent movement & passing by the team which was finished off by Mohammed (Striker). Blackburn United created numerous chances but were unable to extend their lead; Junaid (Midfield) & Abdullah (Winger) hitting the woodwork on couple of occasions. Blackburn United saw out the remaining minutes of the game with ease.

Man of the Match :-    Junaid Sidat
Good result, excellent performance and team is playing with confidence & enjoyment. The team just needs to be a bit more clinical in front of goals. With three games remaining Blackburn United have now moved to the top of the league.

Blackburn United 4 v 0 Hyndburn Youth FC       29/01/12

Good start to the game, Blackburn United holding their own against a well organised Hyndburn team. Most of the football was being played in the midfield – both teams cancelling each other out.  It was clear Blackburn United were struggling with their passing but as the first half progressed United created couple of half chances which Hyndburn Keeper saved well. Towards the end of the first half Hamzah Makda (Left Wing) managed to get away for the Hyndburn defence and slot the ball into the net. 1-0  at half time.

Hyndburn were still dangerous and capable of equalising whilst it remained 1-0. But Blackburn United improved at the start of the 2nd half – Mohammed Patel (Striker) cutting in from the right & taking a shot which went just over the bar.  The United defence managed to stop Hyndburn from creating any clear cut chances. Half way through the 2nd half united double the lead Mohammed Patel scoring when put through from a throw in. Soon it was 3-0, Mohammed getting his 2nd - good work from Junaid (Midfield) with a through ball. Blackburn United started to play with confidence and were dominating  possession. Before the end of the game Hamzah made it 4-0 with a well taken goal.

Good result, 6 out of 10 for performance. Well done to the squad players who started the game today (due couple of regular players being unavailable). Blackburn United now up to 2nd in the league.

Man of the Match: -    Mohammed Patel

Rossendale Valley Pumas (0) v Blackburn United (4)   -  22/01/12

Straight from the kick off Blackburn United attacked Rossendale’s defence, with Hamza & Abdullah having chances to score. It did not take long for United to take the lead with Mohammed (Striker) finishing off a well worked move. Soon it was 0-2, an own goal straight from a corner which was taken by Mohammed. He also scored  the 3rd goal just before half-time.

Start of the second half,  in order to give a run out to the fringe players  three substitutes came on for Blackburn United  (Raiyan, Usama & Mohammed Zain). And still continued to dominate the game just like the first half; any chances created by Rossendale were snuffed out by the defence (Kifayatuallah & Zain). Half way through the 2nd half Mohammed got his hat-trick with a clinical finish from inside the box.  Rossendale’s Keeper (Samuel Dawson - Pumas' Man of the Match) kept the score at 0-4, by making a string of excellent saves. 0-4 it remained at full time.

Excellent result, good performance. The squad are creating lots of chances but need to be more clinical in front of goals. Man of the Match : Abdullah Desa

The quarter final draw for the cup competition has taken place – Blackburn United have been drawn away to Barrowford Celtic, who are 2nd in the Under 10 Red League (4th March). It will be a tough game but  the players will rise to the occasion.

Lammack Juniors Blue (4) v Blackburn United (2)        (08/01/12)

After the Xmas break, the team were looking forward to the resumption of the league. Lammack Juniors started the game well, winning all the 50-50 tackles & putting Blackburn United under pressure. It did not
take long for Lammack to take the lead, corner from the right, the ball went in - off a Blackburn United player. Blackburn United were pinned in their own half, unable to provide any service to Mohammed
(Striker). Soon it was 2-0, shot by the Lammack striker hitting Zain (Defender) on his hand & the referee pointed to the spot. Hamza (Goalkeeper) dived the right way, but the penalty was too good – straight into the corner. Just before halftime Lammack added a 3rd. Lammack deservedly went in 3-0 at halftime.

Great start to the 2nd half, straight from the kick off Mohammed went pass couple of Lammack players and exchanged passes with Abdullah (Right Wing), Mohammed was through on goal and scored (3-1).  It went
better for Blackburn United,  another goal by Mohammed, ball fell to him in a crowed box and he slotted the ball into bottom corner of the goal (3-2). Blackburn were looking for the equaliser, but it was the host team who extended the lead with a good team goal (4-2). Goal came  against the run of play.  Blackburn United were still creating chances, and soon it was (4-3), with Hamza Makda (Left Wing) unmarked in the box and finishing well. More chances came & went, but Blackburn could not get the equaliser. 4-3 is finished with Lammack taking the spoils.

First half display was poor, but excellent response in the 2nd half, positive attitude and commitment. The defeat ends the teams winning streak but no shame in losing to an excellent, well organised Lammack
side. The boys now need to recover and continue to play with the spirit that they showed in the 2nd half, for the remaining fixtures.

Man of the Match :-    Kifayatullah Valli (Defender)

Mill Hill Blue (1) v Blackburn United (2)        [11/12/11]

This league game appeared on paper to be difficult, as Blackburn United were well beaten (3:8) when they played Mill Hill Blue at the start of the season. Good start to the game, Blackburn United playing with confidence and using the width of the pitch. Early chances came and went, Mohammed (Striker) & Abdullah (Ring Wing) the guilty players. Blackburn United were on top, Junaid (Centre Midfield) controlling the midfield. From a corner Mill Hill cleared the ball but went straight to Junaid  - who hit a powerful shot which struck the cross bar. Blackburn United defence remained strong, as Mill Hill came into the game more. Mill Hill had couple of half chances, but Kifayatuallah (Defence) managed to scramble the ball away on  several occasions. Hamza (Goalkeeper) produced an excellent save with his feet to keep the score goalless at half time.

Hamza Chati came on from Hamzah Makda (Left Wing) at the start of the 2nd half. Straight from the kick off Blackburn United took the lead with excellent movement which was finished off by Abdullah – Move involved Hamza Chati running down the left wing and passing to Mohammed who drilled in a low shot which found an unmarked Abdullah at the back post. Soon it was 2-0, Abdullah cutting in from the right & rifling in a shot which the goalkeeper could not handle. More chances came and went – Abdullah missing an simple chance for his hat trick, with just the goalkeeper to beat, but pushing his first time shot wide. Blackburn now began to sit back, playing on the counter. In the dying seconds of the game Mill Hill Blue got their consolation goal, their midfielder cut in from the left and slotting the ball into the right hand corner of the goals.

Excellent result, good performance and the squad are now playing with confidence & determination  – The players just to be a bit more clinical in front of goals.

Man of the Match :-        Abdullah Desai

Blackburn United  5  v  2 Crown Paints  Black      4/12/11

In awful conditions (Windy, Cold & Rain), both teams produced an entertaining match. Blackburn United started well, passing well in difficult conditions. Did not take long for United to take the lead Mohammed (Striker) skipping through few challenges and finishing well. United double the lead with Abdullah (Right Wing) finishing well, when put through by Junaid (Midfield). The defence with Kifayatuallah & Zain were rock solid, not allowing Crown Paints any chances. Hamza(Left Wing) was working hard, he created the 3rd goal when he crossed the ball and found an unmarked Abdullah who finished well for his 2nd goal. Soon afterwards Mohammed went on a run but was brought down by the Crown Paints defender in the box and the referee pointed the spot .Mohammed took the penalty and scored – 4:0. Just before half time Hamza (Goalkeeper) made an excellent save tipping a shot onto the bar & it stayed 4:0 at half-time.

At the start of the 2nd half it appeared that couple of the United players were struggling with the cold and rainy condition & Mohammed (Striker) was hobbling – but to their credit they all carried on.  Crown Paints started to dominate the midfield and began to create a few chances, but Kifayatuallah and Zain were defending resolutely. It was inevitable – Crown Paints managed to convert one of their chances – 4:1. United were now playing on the counter. Junaid, Hamza & Abdullah all had chances to make it 5 – but it remained 4:1. In the last couple of minutes of the game a debatable penalty was given to Crown Paints – handball. Their striker converted the penalty to make it 4:2. From the kick off United went up the other end & scored – Mohammed finishing well from inside the box.  5:2 it finished.

Well done to all the boys, they are reproducing what they have learnt on the training ground - to the matches on Sunday.

Man of the Match : Mohammed Ayub Patel (Striker)

Big thanks and well done to all (Blackburn United, Crown Paints & referee) who took part
today in dreadful and difficult conditions.

Crown Paints Black 4 v 4 Blackburn United     27/11/11

Even start to the game, both teams cancelling each other out.  Blackburn United started to get on top as the first half wore on.  Deservedly took the lead with good play on the right from Abdullah putting through Mohammed, who slotted
the ball into the net. Did not take long for Blackburn United to double the lead, Zain scoring with an excellent free kick.  More chances were created with excellent passing but the Crown Paints goalkeeper doing well not to allow Blackburn United to extend the lead further. Lost of concentration by our defenders lead to Crown Paints pulling a goal back just before half time, 2-1 it remained at half time.

Excellent start to the 2nd half, Blackburn United scoring 2 quick goals. Goals from Mohammed & Abdullah made it 4-1; Great movement by the midfield trio of Hamza, Junaid & Abdullah. Blackburn United controlled the game, all players doing their jobs well. But an unexpected mistake by our goalkeeper ,lead to Crown Paints reducing our lead. Crown Paints players started to believe they could get something out  of the game. Blackburn United started to defend deep , and Crown pulled another goal back when a  speculative shot from a Crown Paints player went in. 4-3 game on !  Hamzah Chati came on from Abdullah Desai and straight way made an impact going down the right wing, crossing the ball in from the bye line, straight to an unmarked Junaid, unfortunately his shot went just over the bar – missed chance. With less than a minute to go, a contentious free kick was awarded to Crown Paints just outside the area. Great free kick from their player – straight into the roof of the net, no chance for our goalkeeper, all level 4-4 and that’s how it
ended. What a game !!

Players were disappointed with drawing the game after being 4-1 up.  All the players played well, just need to cut out the individual mistakes. Credit goes  to the Crown Paints team for never giving up and believing they could get a result from the game even when 4-1 down.

Blackburn United will get the opportunity to put right the disappointment when we play Crown Paints again this week in the reverse fixture.

Man of the Match:   Abdullah Desai

Blackburn United  3 v 0  Darwen Rangers         20/11/11)

Great start to the game, Blackburn United scored with their first attack, Junaid was put through the middle and smashed the ball into the net. As the first half progressed, Darwen Rangers started to dominate possession but were unable to create any clear cut chances. It remained 1-0 at half time.

Start of second half was more even and did not take long for Blackburn United to double their lead, Mohammed with a clinical finish, after an excellent cross from Abdullah from the right wing. Blackburn United appeared to relax and started playing some good football. Mohammed got his second goal, great passing between the front three. There was still time for Junaid to hit the bar with a long range effort.

Excellent Result, that’s seven wins on the bounce for Blackburn United.

Man of the match:- Kifayatullah Valli (Defender)

Blackburn United 3 v 2 Clitheroe Wolves Yellow     Second Round Cup  13/11/11)

This cup game appeared on paper to be difficult, as Clitheroe are playing in a higher league than Blackburn United. Good start to the game, Blackburn United holding their own against Clitheroe and started to create couple of opening with Hamza Makda & Abdullah Desai doing well on the wings. Mohammed also going close when put through by Zunaid. At the other end Kifatullah & Zain were doing well to keep the opposition at bay. Clitheroe took the lead from a well taken free kick, from just outside the area but such is the confidence of the team at present it did not take long for Blackburn United to level, with Mohammed scoring, when left unmarked in the box. A mistake by Clitheroe goalkeeper, allowing speculative shot from Mohammed to roll between his legs & nestle into the net. Just before halftime Mohammed had a chance to complete his hat trick but dragged his shot just wide.

Second half started evenly, Hamza Desai made an excellent save from a shot hit from outside the box.  Blackburn United started to create chances, as Clitheroe looked for the equaliser. A good move from Hamzah Chati & Mohammed lead to the third goal scored by Abdullah, neatly finishing when put through. Still there was time for Clitheroe to get their 2nd goal, what a hit!! Straight into the top corner, even Steven Gerrad would be proud of that. Blackburn United defence remained strong and saw out the remaining minutes. Excellent result and into the hat for the Quarter finals.

Man of the Match: - Abdullah Desai

Blackburn United 2 v 1 Rossendale United Lads -30.10.11

Great start to the game for Rossendale. On their first attack shot from inside the box and a goal. Blackburn United responded well opening up the Rossendale defence on several occasions but the final pass going astray. Zain had a free kick well saved by their goalkeeper. Rossendale also had several chances to extend their lead, but Hamzah made three excellent saves to keep the score line 0-1. Blackburn United equalised towards the end of the first half Mohammed Ayub scoring when put through by Hamza Makda.

Even start to the second half both teams looking to take the lead, Kifatuallah & Zain were defending well, tackling & blocking any chances that Rossendale created. Blackburn United were playing on the break, which lead to us taking the lead, a second goal for Mohammed Ayub. Goal coming from the clearance from Zain finding Mohammed Ayub unmarked, Mohammed finishing well.  Last five minutes of the game Blackburn United were pinned in their own half but defended well & kept their shape to win the game. Excellent Result !!

Blackburn Utd-2 v 1 Rossendale Valley Puma - 9/10/11

This was a tough match for the boys, as the pitch was wet and heavy. We started well and before you know it we were 2-0 up at half time, Zain scoring a fantastic free kick 15 yards out (top corner). The second was a break from defence latched onto by Mohammed Ayub Patel and buried in the corner. After that we had many chances to put the game beyond any doubt but unfortunately did not take them.

In the second half, Rossendale Valley puma's started brightly and with 10 mins to go scored a goal. Now our backs were to the wall but we defended well and held on to full time.

Man of the match Abdullah Desai.

It was evident right from the start of the game why Lammack  are unbeaten after 4 games and are currently top of our league. We were 2-0 down in first 15 minutes but a goal just before half time by Abdullah Desai put us back in contention.

This gave the lads confidence and we started  the second half  very positively and were attacking at every opportunity,.After missing numerous chances, Mohammed Ayub Patel(striker) who has had the last 3 man of the match awards, equalised with 5 minutes to go. Kifayatullah Valli our left back was awarded  Man of the match from Lammack.Well deserved for an  Outstanding performance by our Defender.
