UNDER 9’s RED Yellow League 2011/12

Blackburn Utd Red 7  v  0  Barrowford Celtic Black      08.01.20

The Holiday period break seemed not to affect this very talented group of lads and straight from the kick off Blackburn United attacked Barrow ford Celtic Black’s defence, with Umar & Musa having chances to score. Throughout the first half it was all Blackburn United, some excellent play and cool finishing meant we went in at half time 3-0 up thanks to a Hatrick from Umar.

Just like the first half, the second half was the same, United changed the team and all the subs were given a chance to impress, Mohammed Dhorat slotted in well in defence and made some superb tackles and passes, Dhorat showing good signs of improvement, Kashif coming on as striker and scoring a lovely goal to make it 4-0.  Mahir was again the danger down the wings and provided good chances for Sufyaan to score a brace too. In the final minutes United made it 7-0 with Zunaid Scoring a tap in after good work through the middle by Mohammed Umar.

Have to mention the Blackburn United keeper Hamza, who had a quiet day and barely touched the ball and was seen dozing off whilst the game was being played. Credit to the defence for their protection.

Another good performance against a weakened Barrowford Celtic Black side that had a couple of players not available.

Another well done to the Boys, the hard work and dedication being shown is a credit to you and your parents.

Blackburn Utd Red 7 – 0 Darwen Rangers       4/12/1

With only a handful of games played over the entire weekend, the U9’s Red team was fortunate to have their game at home to Darwen Rangers given the go ahead by the officials.  The conditions were terrible, cold chilly wind blowing and torrential rain, really felt sorry for the boys having to play in these conditions, but did they let it concern them? Not at all ,again a good, solid performance from the lads ,who cruised into a 4-0 half time lead thanks to goals from centre forward, Umar Mohammed, Moosa and two from right winger, Mahir.  United  looked fairly comfortable throughout and with more clinical finishing could well have added to the goals scored before the break.  The Darwen Rangers Goalkeeper had a busy day and was fantastic throughout producing some excellent stops.

The second half gave us the opertunaty to play some of the  all the substitutes come on, Kashif scoring a quick brace before Sufyaan wrapped things up with a great hit from distance.  Mohammed Dhorat replaced the rock Safwaan in defence and did a good job keeping his shape and getting into very good positions to defend well.  For all the territorial possession, United played some fantastic football, passing the ball well in extremely difficult conditions.

Despite the horrible conditions the boys played some beautiful football, the spirit in the camp is high, these boys want to play for each other and their managers, keep up the good work boys.

Man of Match – Mahir Bau

Blackburn United under 9's red appeal against duduction of 3 points , was upheld at last night league meeting by a vote of four to three. Therefor the four points gap is restored and we preserve the unbeaten record.

Darwen Rangers Blue 0 v 2 Blackburn United ‘Red’- 27/11/ 2011

It was a wet and windy day the pitch was very muddy but that didn't bother the boys and the match got the okay from the referee to be played.

In the first 10 minutes the teams seemed fairly evenly matched but it wasn’t long before Blackburn United started to dominate with their pace and some fluent passing. Sufyaan scored the first goal, assist for the goal came from the strong midfield team of Mahir and Moosa.

In the second half Blackburn United continued to dominate the game and were rewarded with an excellent solo goal by Mahir, who rode three challenges before slotting the ball in the net. This prompted  Darwen Rangers to  attack a bit more and were troubling united down the right wing, fortunately for United Safwaan and Mohammed did a sterling job before Mohammed  being replaced by Dhorat, who Hoping to impress the manager, went on the run of the game, sprinting from defence to attack in a matter of seconds.

More substitutions by United saw the game being played in the middle of the park, Kashif coming on for Umar , and Zunaid coming on for Moosa down the left wing, Zunaid had a late chance to score the 3 rd goal for United but combination of the muddy  pitch and the strong  wind took the ball away from the goals.

Mohammed and Safwaan played in Defence again and were absolutely outstanding. Umar played upfront as a lone strike and worked hard on a very difficult pitch and even trickier conditions.

The result was just reward for the team who worked very hard to  against a well organised side on a very tricky pitch as well as the windy conditions.

It’s also gratifying when the opposition manger makes the effort to send e mail to the club, complimenting on the attitude and sportsmanship of the players and all officials of Blackburn United.

This is the quote sent from Les Campbell (Darwen Blue Manager)

‘Iqbal

Played your U9 red team on Sunday at Sandy Lane and would just like to say what a pleasure it was playing them (apart from the result)!! The managers and the boys attitude to fair play was easy to see and are a credit to you and our league.’

Les Campbell - Darwen Rangers Blue manager

Well done to all the players and the management team. A brilliant result in every aspect.

Man of Match – Mahir Bau

Blackburn United ‘Red’ 3 v 1 Padiham Saints     20/11/11

Blackburn United 9’s Red overtook Padiham Saints at the top of the Under 9's Yellow League table by winning 3-1 against them on Sunday.

A brace either side of half-time by Umar, the second a thunderous shot straight into the top corner and an own goal from Padiham saw United maintain their unbeaten run.

In the first half Blackburn United had the initiative and took the lead when Umar Mohammed scored with a lovely dink over Padiham's keeper after a terrific pass from Moosa to make it 1-0 just before half time.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Padiham almost equalise straight from the kick off when their midfielder almost ran through the entire United Team, luckily some last ditch defending saved the day.

An excellent pass and move counter attack saw the ball being moved swiftly across the pitch by United, and when the ball came to Umar, he hit a thunderous shot straight into the top corner.(if Rooney had scored a similar goal to Umar’s second, it would be hailed as goal of the season) United quickly went 3-0 in front with a quick one two from a corner and when the ball was hit across the face of the goal, Padiham were unlucky, the ball hit their defender and agonisingly rolled over the line.

United sat back and felt the onrush of some late Padiham pressure, the ball constantly in the United half but credit to the whole team for defending fantastically as a unit against the league’s most prolific team. Jack McGinley got a late consolation for the visitors, an absolute stunning goal from Padiham's Man of the Match who thoroughly deserved his goal for a very entertaining performance.

Well done to the boys for all their hard work, dedication and commitment, Umar Mohammed Man of the Match and definitely contender for goal of the season!!!!!

Bacup Juniors 0 v 3 Blackburn United  - Cup Game -13 / 11/ 2011

Another cold, Sunday morning, a bit of a trek to Bacup and after our friend Sat Nav decided to take us up some narrow farm path we finally got there!!!

The opening stages of the game was a very cagey affair, although man of the match Umar Mohammed saw his long-range effort narrowly miss the target. In fact Umar was everywhere - mopping up in defence with his partner Mohammed Moosa and also along the flanks, as well as making a number of telling runs into the opposition half. As the half wore on Blackburn United upped their game and began to dominate proceedings. Sufyan Loonat had a shot well saved and Moosa fired wide from just outside the area. Despite the constant pressure, United were nearly hit with a sucker punch, but keeper Hamzah Hoosen pulled off an excellent save when one-on-one with a Bacup forward. On the stroke of half-time United opened the scoring when Zunaid ran the length of the field before unselfishly squaring to Umar who slotted the ball past the keeper.

The second half was all united and if it wasn’t for a world class save from the Bacup keeper they would have been 2-0 straight from the kick off.  But it wasn’t long before  United extended their lead when Sufyaan Loonat picked the ball in midfield, played an inch perfect pass through two defenders to Umar to score his second of the match. In the dying minutes United scored again from a fine flowing passing move from one end of the pitch to the other, free flowing passing across the face of goal and easy tap in for Kashif. A good 0-3 win against a very good Bacup side who play in the Green League.

Despite a great attacking display the man of the match award went to central defender Mohammed Umar (Alty). His rock solid defensive performance provided the platform for his teammates to play their free flowing passing game.

Blackburn United U9's Reds unbeaten run continues , with an added bonus of another clean sheet.

Through to the quarter finals bring on the draw master!!!!

Blackburn United  9 v 0  Mill Hill Lads   30/10/2011

Blackburn United started with purpose and dominated possession in the early stages, with Mill Hill Lads struggling to cope with the pace and movement of the whole team. United had played Sufyaan Loonat as an attacking midfielder and  he didn’t let Mill Hill settle at all, he moved the ball forward quickly causing the fullbacks to get isolated. Umar was a constant threat with his pace and between him and Sufyaan had the  Mill Hill defence in sorts of problems and by half time the game was virtually won at 5-0 to United.

Second Half saw Zunaid, Kashif and Dhorat coming on, and soon started where they’d left off in the first half, quickly going 6-0 up before adding another quick two goal.  Just as the game was approaching full time , Umar got his fourth goal of the game after  a defence splitting pass, and so very nearly got his fifth goal and United’s 10th in the final seconds, but the  post came to Mill Hills rescue.

A convincing 9-0 win to move 5 points clear at the top of the table.  Excellent progress by the whole squad, the most satisfying thing is that, what you teach these boys in training is actually being carried out on the pitch, and it is a pleasure to watch from the sidelines.

Keep up the Good Work Boys!!!!!

Man of Match – Safwaan Loonat

Feniscowles & Pleasington Blue 1 v 3 Blackburn United - 23/10/2011

Even start to the game, but as the first half progressed Blackburn United started creating some chances. Musa going wide with a shot from the edge of the box. Minutes later United were awarded a free kick, just outside their box. Excellent save from Feniscowles goalkeeper – keeping out Umar. Half way through the first half Zunaid went through their defence, with just the goalie to beat but  shot straight at him. 0-0 at half time.

In the second half,  most of the game was being played in Feniscowles half.  Musa received the ball on the right, cut in from the touch line & straight into the top corner – excellent finish.  Did not take long to extend the lead, Umar finishing off a nice move. Zunaid soon made the game safe with a clinical finish.  Feniscowles scored a consolation goal with 5 minutes left, via a penalty - Hamza bringing down their striker. Excellent penalty save by Hamza but the rebound was slotted in.  Excellent result against a good side.

Blackburn United  4 v 0  Langho   16/10/2011

Straight from the kick off Blackburn United attacked and put Langho’s defence under great pressure , with Umar & Musa having chances to score. Throughout the first half it was all Blackburn United, with Langho’s excellent defence keeping Blackburn United out.

Start of the second half was more even but as the half progressed United began to dominate.  Soon we were 2-0 up, with goals from Umar & Zunaid.  Langho began to leave gaps at the back as they looked for goals and get back in the game, and  Blackburn United took full advantise and  completed the victory  by adding  further goals from  Sufyan and a second for Zunaid.

Barrowford Celtic Orange 1 v 2 Blackburn United      9/10/11

Great start to the game, Blackburn United were passing the ball well. Two quick goals within the first five minutes (Umar & Kashif).  More chances came along during the first half, excellent save by their keeper from Umar's free kick & Kashif went just wide when put through by Umar.
Start of second half was more even, appeared Barrowford Manager had made a tactical change to stop the flowing passing of Blackburn United. Zunaid came on for Umar and immediately made an impact going through their defence and nearly scoring.  Barrowford scored a goal with 5 minutes left, corner parried by Hamza which fell to their striker who slotted the ball into an empty net. Barrowford went in search of the equaliser but could not find a way through our excellent defence. Another win, on this brilliant start to the season.

Blackburn United 3 v 1  Rossendale  Valley Wasps  2/10/11

Even start to the game, but as the first half progressed Blackburn United were playing all the football in Rossendale Wasp’s half. Good passing between the front three of Umar, Kashif & Musa, this lead to us scoring the first goal – Umar the scorer. Soon after the first goal we had a free kick outside their box for a handball; Umar took the resulting free kick and goal, straight into the top corner (just like one of Beckham’s free kick). Just before the end of the half, Rossendale had a long looping shot which was excellently saved by Hamza.

Rossendale came into the game more in the second half. Their left midfielder was crossing in dangerous balls into our box, which our defenders (Sufyan & Safwan) dealt with well. Zunaid came on for Kashif. Umar got his hat-trick, identical to the first goal, good passing by Blackburn United. In the dying minutes of the game Rossendale Valley Wasps got their consolation goal, which they deserved for their hardwork

Padiham Saints 0 v 0 Blackburn United    1st Round Cup Game 25/9/11

3  v  4 – After penalty shoot out

Absolutely enthralling game end to end against Padiham Saints who have been scoring openly in their last 3 games. The u'9 red team played awesome and the game finished 0-0. Into extra time and still as intense, crowd covered all four sides of pitch, lots of oooo's and aaaaaa's whistle blew for penalties, everybody egging each team on, we won toss and decided they go first, our keeper saved the first one, our goi and 1-0 up, super pen by sufyan loonat, their pen and good pen by man of match jack mckinlay for padiham, safwaan to take next one, saved..... Padiham miss 3rd . Umar to take final penalty and bamn straight in back of net, fantastic achievement.

Barrowford Celtic Black 1 v 3 Blackburn United  18/9/11

Delayed kick off, as no sign of referee. Once we were underway Barrowford started brightly, not allowing our boys to play their passing game.  Had couple of half chances in the first half but nothing came of them.  Managed to take lead at the start of second half, Musa putting away a square ball from Umar in the box. Did not take us a long to double the lead, ball coming from the left wing, the goal keeper only managed to parry the ball straight to Umar who tucked it away. All the football was played in Barrowford’s half. Third goal, excellent finish by Musa who followed up Umar’s shot. . In the dying minutes of the game Barrowford Celtic Black got their consolation goal, Sufyan handling the ball in the box. Excellent result but performance was average.

Oswaldtwistle St Marys 0 v 3 Blackburn United    11/9/11

Just like the previous game, Blackburn United attacked from the start. They were passing well, and did not take long to take the lead, with Umar scoring the goal. 1-0 it remained until half time. Second half was the same, all the pressure from Blackburn United. Soon doubled our lead from the penalty stop, Sufyan drilling home the penalty. A third goal was added before full time – Musa getting on the score sheet.

Blackburn United 1  v  0 Clitheroe Wolves Red          4/9/11

Straight from the kick off Blackburn United attacked Clitheroe’s defence, with Umar & Musa having chances to score. Throughout the first half it was all Blackburn United, with Clitheroe’s goalkeeper making couple of excellent saves and also the post stopping United from taking the lead.

Just like the first half, the second half was the same, looked like it was not our day. But half way through the 2nd half, we managed to slot home one of the many chances we had created .  Finished 1-0 ,but should have been a few more, shooting practise required back on the training pitch.

Feniscowles/Pleasington  1 v 1 Blackburn United        2/9/11

First game of new season, kids was looking for to it after having good results in the warm up games. Feniscowles looked like a very well organised team; most of the football was played in the midfield. Both teams appeared to be cancelling each other out. Feniscowles took a fortuitous the lead from a shot which hit one of our defenders knee and went in.

In the second half Blackburn United pushed up and as a result most of the play was in Feniscowles’s half. A deserved equaliser from Zuniad, for all the boys’ hard work. Blackburn United pressed for a winner but had to settle for a draw (1-1). Encouraging start to the new season.
